Laurène Smith is an American and French artist based in Montreal, Canada. She has completed a BFA in Photography at Concordia University in 2020. Her current work focuses on performative photography, using the body, fragility, and the narrative as recurring subjects in her practice. She is very interested in the relationship between the body and psychological/physical spaces. She has exhibited in both the United States and Canada.
In 2018, Laurène co-founded Colure Collective, a Montreal-based emerging artist collective. Colure's objective is to integrate work by emerging artists into the Montreal art community through exhibitions, publications and events, and to provide a space for image-based artists to come together and collaborate.
